It is up to each of us to do what we can to reduce our greenhouse gases.  This will also have added benefits of reduced air pollution and increased health of our planet and out children.

Below are some suggestions for what you can do.  We start with free things and move up to high tech solutions

Free solutions

  • Or checking the temperature of your refrigerator to make sure that it is not too cold. It should be 4 degrees C.
  • Dressing warmly in winter can reduce your need for excess heating. Having your heat up high and getting around in a t-shirt is pure madness and is dramatically increasing your heating bills.
  • Changing your driving habits can increase your fuel efficiency by up to 40%.  See our ebooks on saving petrol
  • Get rid of the beer fridge in the garage  - sorry guys
  • walk more
  • Spend a night a week without the TV or computer on, this will give you more quality time with your loved ones
  • throw away your plasma TV, they use way too much energy, if you stand near one you can feel the heat coming off it.
  • eat less meat and more vegetables, especially ones you have grown yourself - cows produce about a 1/3 of the greenhouses gases in the form of methane.
